Thank you for visiting my site. I am an economics / finance / policy professional currently splitting my time between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. I grew up in Toronto, Canada and was educated at the University of Toronto (BSc) and Princeton University (MA, PhD).
Before my move to Riyadh to work at a regulator, I had previously worked in Abu Dhabi (policy), Dubai (consulting and policy), Montreal (technology), New York City (finance) and Singapore (consulting). Although my background may sound prima facie like that of many Ivy League graduates, my story is highly atypical. Some details about my odd past can be found in the About or Stories sections.

This site is a repository of all the formal writings and media from me (and some popular press coverage), as well as a place for me to provide notes on topics dear to me. I also share some personal stories on unusual circumstances and events in my life. I hope to one day gather these tales into a memoir.
